The latest Smartphone’s on the market would be the Android phones. These phones are a close competitor to the iPhone, but between the SD storage, more free apps and numerous models to choose from, the Android operating system has clearly surpassed the iPhone in most aspects of the technology of the Smartphone.
Possibly the best aspect of the Android phone is that every carrier and most manufacturers carry Android devices. You are not stuck to one carrier or one style; you can go with the wireless company of your choice and choose a style that fits you. There are large touch screen Androids, small, compact ones and ones that have a flip out or slide out keyboard, whatever your need is, you are sure to find one in an Android device.
The Apps available in the Android market are very similar to those in the Apple iTunes Store, however; many of the apps that are paid for with the iPhone are free with the Android, such as the very popular Angry Birds series of games. In addition, users of the Android have the option to save apps to either the phone memory or the SD card, making room for as many apps that you may want. With an SD card, you can determine how much memory you have by the size of the card, anywhere from 2G up to 16G are available to download apps, pictures and data; whereas with the iPhone, you are only able to use the phone memory, so once the memory is gone, you either need to delete apps or stop purchasing them.
With so many options for the Android phone, it is far better in technology and convenience than its close competitors. You have many more options when it comes to not only the apps, but the storage and memory as well. In addition, these phones are very user friendly, making it possible for even a novice to run the phone flawlessly.
